NSW Government client established a program of work to progress the delivery of a Digitial Case File.

The Digital Customer Experience Team is seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer for a contract opportunity till end of July 2025.

About the role
The UX/UI Designer works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to research, design and assist in delivering exceptional customer and user experiences that achieve business outcomes and improve business efficiencies and processes.
The role is user centric and requires solid user-centred design values, principles and practices; strong business analytics skills; excellent communication and stakeholder engagement and management skills; and be a master at juggling multiple projects and priorities.
 
Key Responsibilities 
 
The Senior UX/UI Designer will have the following responsibilities: 
  • Work collaboratively with members of the Digital Case File Team to build, implement, release, support and maintain a digital product suite including facilitating workshops, maintaining documentation and participating in internal showcases.
  • Apply technical skills in user experience and digital user interface design, including exploring the issue, researching, ideating, designing, testing, and measuring.
  • Ability to use different methodologies and tools to solve different challenges.
  • Lead user and customer research to inform design work and to iterate existing experience artefacts such as personas or customer journeys.
  • Support viable and sustainable product solutions from design through discovery, framing and iterating development and continuous improvement within a Human-Centered Design (HCD) framework. Including but not limited to UI design, content modelling/design, information architecture, web standards and analytics design.
  • Support usability, accessibility and user acceptance testing of digital services to ensure we provide users with a great experience while ensuring all requirements and guidelines are met.
  • Stay up to date with the best user research practices, including User Interaction (UI), accessibility guidelines, and visual design practices.
  • Liaison with client Service Designers, Business Analysts, Service Owner, Product Owner, and SMEs to gather and validate functional requirements.
  • Design a functional solution approach of user stories, together with the Solution Architect and deliver a technical solution design.
  • Responsible for all stages of the UX/UI development of user interfaces for digital applications.
  • Building responsive and accessible user interfaces
  • Contributing to the continuous process improvements in the development space.
  • Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, managing multiple priorities within tight time frames.
Skills and Experience Required
The Senior UX/UI Designer will have the following abilities, skills, and experience:
Mandatory:
  • Over 5 years of experience in development and delivery of UX/UI solutions, preferably
  • Advanced skills in industry-leading software and technologies, such as Adobe Photoshop, Figma, inVision, Jira, Confluence, Trello, Google suite
  • Ability to understand analytics data to make data driven decision as well as an ability to understand and design for personas.
  • Experience working in agile and lean environments.
  • Experience in digital design including website design, development, and maintenance/user interfaces as well as an understanding of the foundations of front-end web development.
  • Experience in delivering small to large UI projects from websites to apps.
  • Good to have knowledge on Java, JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, and XML.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to interpret business requirements and technical concepts.
