SQL Developer

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable SQL Developer to join our dynamic team. 

You will work closely with a business analyst, data developers and Power BI experts to develop, optimise, and deliver the Data Insights Program outcomes.

Our ideal candidate will have experience in writing SQL queries and procedures to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data in collaboration with the Data Insights team to create dynamic dashboards and reports that provide strategic business insights.

You will have a combination of technical skills, such as database design, data modelling, proficiency in SQL and familiarity with major database management systems like MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.

You will be working across the business to understand requirements and then being part of a multi-disciplinary team to communicate the data story to inform decision making.

You will work in an environment where the legacy systems are being replaced and old processes are evolving and being re-designed.

Key Duties & Responsibilities; 

  • Write complex SQL queries and procedures to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data for applications and business intelligence reporting.
  • Participate in data modelling and database schema design.
  • Analyse queries, develop security protocols, and resolve problems related to database management.
  • Optimising database performance and creating complex functions and stored procedures.
  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases for optimal performance and reliability.
  • Support the development and delivery of ongoing enhancements to data reporting and Power BI dashboards to meet the business requirements for the Directorate.
  • Collaborate with the Power BI team to create dynamic dashboards and reports that provide strategic business insights.
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, both within the Branch and the broader Directorate, to collaborate effectively to achieve common goals.
  • Participate in stakeholder workshops/meetings were required.
